Best Indian of the year- DISHOOM

I went to the soft launch of this newly opened branch located near King's Cross station and OMG. The food was BRILLIANT. I am going to guide you through their massive menu and show you MANY of my favourite dishes! This is by far the BEST Indian I have had in 2014!

Lamb Samosas RRP £4.20
Gujarati filo (not Punjabi shortcrust) stuffed with minced lamb, onions and spices
Raita RRP £2.5
Delicate minty yoghurt dip with cucumber
A very refreshing dip, best served with a portion of hot naan bread. There were big bites of cucumbers in the yoghurt. Best to order as an appetiser as it will really increase your appetite!

Cheese Naan RRP £2.5
MUST HAVE-- THE BEST NAAN BREAD I HAVE EVER HAD!  The cheddar is melted inside the nan and served fresh, perfect for ANY curry you order or just to eat on its own! My absolute favourite. Something different to the normal ones you get from Indian restaurants!

(right) House Black Daal RRP £4.9
The Dishoom signature lentil curry
Murgh Malai RRP £7.50
Chicken thigh meat is steeped overnight in garlic, ginger, coriander stems and a little cream. Still slightly pink when fully cooked.
MUST HAVE- O.M.G! Never in MY LIFE have I been into an Indian restaurant that serves chicken that is as tender as this! Dishoom only uses chicken THIGHs in ALL of its chicken dishes. The result is tender, moist and flavoursome chickens that is packed with juices and I couldn't get enough of it! This looks bland but you won't believe how much ingredients is hidden in every piece.

Chicken Tikka RRP £7.50
A family recipe, using a marinade of sweet vinegar, not toghurt. Laced with ginger juice, turmeric, garlic and green chilli
A classic Indian dish that you can get in pretty much any Indian restaurants. But as described above, the tenderness of the chicken makes this dish extra tasty.

Masala Prawns RRP £11.20
Each one charred sightly at the edges, succulent and simple, nothing to bamboozie
Dishoom uses fresh king prawns so there is always extra points for that!

Paneer & Mango RRP£7.90
Finest marinated curd-cheese in a leafy bed with fresh mango, and crispy shallots

This is a very delicious appetiser to get yourselves ready for the heavy flavours curries and meat. Paneer is a type of Indian cheese that is light, and adds texture to the greens.
Chicken Ruby RRP £8.20
Tender chicken thigh curry redolent with spice and flavour, in a rich silky "makhani" sauce
MUST HAVE- My favourite curry of all times, and most definitely the best curry by Dishoom. Tender chicken, generous portion, flavoursome sauce- perfect!

Nalli Nihiari (Chef's special) RRP £17
A robust lamb-on-the-bone stew with generous spice, served with sesame-onion-seed naan
Prawn Koliwada RRP £5.90
Bombay's fishermen district recipe: a bowl of delicate, crispy morsels with tamarind and date chutney
House Chai RRP £2.5
MUST HAVE- This tea may look simple, but do not underestimate the flavour that comes from this little glass! The balance of sweetness and milk was great. I wish they do take out because it is the perfect drink for winter!

(left) Mango & Fennel Lassi RRP £3.7
(right) "Thums up" RRP £2.9

The cola of Bombay

If you haven't tried Indian coke, grab a bottle of "thumbs up"! The bottles are recycled and most importantly, the drink taste almost the same as a normal coke, yummy!
Mango Kulfi RRP £3.2
Satin-smooth, sweet real mango ice lolly
MUST HAVE- Mango flavoured ice lolly! It is sweet, mango-y, light, creamy, and very yummy!

Water melon Sharbat RRP £3.7
Fresh watermelon muddled with spearmint, lime and sea-salt, thrown over cubes of ice

Don't believe anything I say? Look at this queue!
