Bubba Gump- American Shrimp Kingdom

The good old Trocadero- which had all the 80's babies' childhood memory, has sadly been shut. But be sad no more! The former indoor arcade is now replaced by this modern American restaurant, who specialises in shrimps.

There are no reservations available and therefore I advise you go early to avoid queues. Having said that, when I dined there on a Friday evening, the restaurant was nowhere near full.
This might be due to its spacious interior and large number of tables available.
The interior reminds me of cowboys.

Strawberry Mango Chiller
This drink costs £7.99, but the sparkling cup is complimentary which means you get to take it home with you. Personally. I'd rather not take the cup and pay less for the drink.

Secret Mango Sparkler

"I'm stuffed" Shrimp RRP £17.50
Large shrimp with crab stuffing, baked in garlic butter and topped with cheese. Served with Jasmine Rice
Each dish comes with 7 King prawns stuffed with crab meat. This is comparably a healthier option at Bubba Gump. The taste is satisfactory. However, the slice of the bread on the side didn't really go with anything on the dish. A little more seasoning with the prawns would be better. A little pricey for the portion size and its quality.
Net Catch EntrĂ©e RRP £19.95
Beer steamed shrimps (with shells), along with carrots, celery, corn, potatoes and sausages, all steamed and tossed with garlic spice or Bubba Gump's secret Calup spice.
In short, this is a spicy shrimp pot cooked with mixed vegetables. I couldn't really taste any flavours but a hint of spice powder. The portion size was fair but I reckon you'd get a little bored after awhile.
Shrimper's heaven RRP £19.50
Hand breaded coconut shrimp, Chilled peel "n" eat shrimp, Fried Srimp and Japanese style Tempura shrimp. Served with Fries and 3 dipping sauces- "Tangy Asian", "Cajun Marmalade", and "Zesty Cocktail"

My favourite of this platter was the Chilled peel "n" eat shrimp. It is simple and has a hint of rice wine and vinegar to it (a little bit like prawn cocktail). The rest were in my opinion, nothing special, and very bad for health. I recommend sharing this platter between 4 people. Oh and the sauce....let's just stick to ketchup.

Overall Rating:
(This place is more like a kid's party venue than a restaurant. Prices are a little over the top. Services are very good. However, not in a rush to return)

Staff:
(Staff were very cheerful and offered excellent service. Gave practical advise when enquired about the menu)

Food:
(Shrimps were fresh. A good combination of comfort food and (slightly more) healthier options. Personally think the chefs need to work on the flavours more)

Hygiene:
(Venue is big and spacious. Seats were comfortable and toilets were overall very clean)

Value:
(A little too pricey for its quality)

NB: Review above is a mere personal opinion.

The classic American dining experience, overload on the cheese and seafood lol. If you liked Bubba Shrimp I'd recommend Big Easy, not sure how it measures up to BBG but food was good and nothing quite like dining in an old power station....

I didn't really enjoy Bubba gump and I thought it was a rip off. Still haven't been to big easy when everyone is talking about it. Looking forward to trying it out some day! Thanks

If you are a real fan of prawns I suggest saving this money and have a nice sushi meal instead!
