Le Gavroche- "A fine dining Dream"

Located in the heart of Mayfair since 1967, Le Gavroche was the first reataurant in the UK to be offered a Michelin award. It offers a truly luxurious dining experience offering classic French cuisine with a mordern twist to it. This Restaurant should definitely be on your to-go list, especially for a special occasion.

I visited on my 25th birthday and had a truly pleasant time. The restaurant, although small, had comfotable leather sofas and seats. It is artistically decorated with flowers and vintage ornaments. The place is quiet and all customers are expected to be well dressed. Staff all wore uniform and were all professional.

The restaurant received countless awards including 2 Michelin-Stars and One of the 50 Best Restaurants in the World. The attention to detail, from decorations to food, is a key to why this restaurant deserves a lot of hype.

The Food
We were greeted with a complimentary (and truly delicious) canapés. Truly scrumptious!

Our Menu Exceptionnel included the following...

Restaurant review
Soufflé Suissesse
Cheese Souffle Cooked on Double Cream
A very interesting dish. Soft yet so full of texture with a hint of yet not overwhelming cheese and pepper flavours. You'd expect souffles to be sweet but this one is special!

Agneau de lait rôti en persillade
Roast Pyrenean lamb with garlic and parsley thyme scented jus
OMGGGGGGGGG!!!
Editor's favourite!! The most tender and delicious piece of lamb I've had in my entire life. The meat was left to season for long hours before it was cooked- giving it time to absorb all flavour possible. The lamb was so perfectly cooked and blended with the sauce so well- immaculate dish! I will definitely return, just for this dish! (Full size option available for RRP £59)

Le Plateau de Fromages Affinés
Selection of French and British Farmhouse Cheese
It was the first time for me to see such a massive collection on a cheesboard! So colourful and pretty I wanted to carve the cheese myself!

Restaurant review
Petite tarte tatin aux poires et glace à la vanille de madagascar
Pear tart tatin with Vanilla ice cream
The chef was so attentive he added a little something to my dessert, as a birthday greet :) Happy Happy Muji.

Café et Petits Fours

Another absolute bonus to visiting this restuarnt- Chef Michel Roux works there! Every evening he would come outside the dining room to greet customers and get feedback. I was one of the lucky ones to get a photo taken with him!

Me and Chef Roux!

Le Gavroche is a truly luxurious fine dining experience that you will not be able to forget. Although it is  pricey, I recommend booking this restaurant for your loved ones on a special occasion such as birthdays or anniversaries. It is most likely to put a smile on your loved one's face- it's all worth it right?
