Have been attracted to the menu for awhile and wanted to try this place out. Finally got the chance to, and must say- I have mixed feelings. I thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant and can truly say, if you are looking for a place to chill with your colleagues or girl friends for a night out with some wine and nice food for the evening, look no further.
Here we go....
A very relaxing yet energetic surrounding once you enter. Walls are decorated with oil paintings. Lighting was very good as it wasn't too dark like most "high-end" restaurants. Very impressed with the interior.
The Food- Daily A la carte
Soft Shell crab and seafood bhaji with freshly made sour cream
|
Slow cooked crisp pork belly, artisanal black pudding, carrot puree.Editor's favourite!-Pork was very tender and moist and the carrot puree did well to bring out the meaty flavours. |
Scottish scallops, peas, lime. |
Welsh rack and slow cooked neck of lamb, roast onion purée, grilled apricots, Provence artichokes, fresh almonds Was cooked fairly well, however not the best I have had. |
Grilled Creekstone Angus beef, grilled onions, crisp buttery Anna potatoes.
This was actually for two persons, but somehow we managed to demolish the whole thing. I asked for medium rare and to me it was a little overdone. However overall it was a nicely cooked steak with the juice retained in the meat.Wild honey ice cream, honeycomb. |
I am not even a fan of dessert. Yet this is almost perfect. The ice-cream complimented the honey and freshly baked honey comb so well. You get crunch, milk and sweet all at the same time. I can't even explain in words. If I visit this restaurant again, this will be the reason.
Overall Rating: (Loved the interior of the restaurant, there was ups and downs with the food but dessert was great)
Staff: (Were not 100% attentive. Had to wave for quite a long time throughout the eveing to get their attention)
Food: (Dessert was awesome but I was so disappointed with my scallops)
Hygiene:
