SHIBUYA, for those who love to try new desserts.

Shaved ice has always been a very popular dessert in Asia. In Taiwan, especially, you can find this in lots of side streets, with different flavours and toppings, at a super affordable price. Shibuya brings this oriental flavour to London and, although the number of choices are far from what Asia has to offer, it does a good job at satisfying tastebuds of foodies, like myself.

Warning: Shaved ice and desserts are about the only thing I would recommend from Shibuya- here's why:
Overall Rating:
Pros:
The shaved ice was very delicious and almost tasted as good as the ones I had in Taiwan. Portions were big (order a large) and comes with layers of fresh fruit.
Cons:
-If you have a choice ask to sit downstairs and do not sit on the first floor- the place was really hot with no air conditioner.
-The dessert should be the ONLY thing you eat in this place. The other main dishes were very average but with a high price tag- there are plenty of Japanese restaurants in the same area that serves much higher quality sushi and other Japanese food.

Staff:
One word- clueless. The person who served us forgets what we order and just walks around half asleep. Staff were not particularly friendly.

Food:
Desserts were delicious. I reckon this place will do so much better if they only serve desserts. Other savoury dishes were overpriced.

Seating:
Uncomfortable. The room was boiling hot yet they did not turn the air conditioning on. The tables were very closed to each other you almost feel like you are dining with a bunch of strangers on a massive table.

Value:
Main couse including Sashimi, sushi and chirashi don are priced from 10 pounds. With this money you can get much better sushi in the Soho area.

Mango Bing
Milk snow flake with fresh apple mango
(Regular £5.75/ Large £6.95)
EDITOR's FAVOURITE: The only reason why you would visit this place! sweetened shaved ice with fresh fruit toppings and condensed milk. The shaved ice are nicely sweetened and sandwiched between layers of fruit. Other flavours are available including kiwi and strawberry. You can also choose a regular or a big one to share. The picture above is a large.

Matcha Bing
Milk snow flake with green tea and azuki beans
(Regular £5.90/ Large £7.90)

Real matcha powder are used for this, giving it a truly authentic Japanese flavour. However I don't recommend this if you have never tried green tea powder before as you might find it very bitter.

Chirashi Don
Mixed sashimi (raw fish) on rice 14.59

Wasabi Mayo Potato 3.70

Sashimi Salad £7.80

Prawn Tempura Udon 8.50
Japanese style king prawn in batter with seaweed

Yellow tail Jalapeno £11.80
in Yuzu sauce
