Travel Diary #2- Hong Kong

The Food Chapter #1

My home town is well known as the "Gourmet Paradise". It is impossible to not go there if you claim yourself to be a food lover. Below are my captures of SOME of the yummy food I've had during my two weeks stay.

"Houdai" - All you can eat Japanese cuisine

One of the best things about eating in Hong Kong is price. Wherever you stay, you are sure to find good deals without neglecting the quality of food. Photos below, for example, are from two "all you can eat" Japanese restaurants. For just £15 per head, you get unlimited delicious food, PLUS unlimited drinks, including alcohol!

Speaking of Japanese food, below are a few that I highly recommend:

PEPPER LUNCH- Tepanyaki Steak and Rice

Nice and simple, seasoned beef served on a stone hot grill, with rice and sweet corn- One of the best combination. Selection of sauces are also available, including Teriyaki, garlic and soy sauce. Cheap and cheerful and super yummy- must try!

Location: Langham Place Office Tower, 8 Argyle St, Hong Kong (and many other branches)

POKKA CAFE
This is a Japanese style cafe that has a huge selection of fine food. We ordered the following and absolutely fell in love:

Fresh Fruit blend tea
As you can see the tea was brewed using various fresh fruits including straberries, lemon and apple. Mixed with the honey provided gives a refreshing taste.

EDITOR's FAVOURITE:
Omlette rice with grilled Eel

Words cannot describe how yummy this was! Fried rice wrapped in scrambled egg pancake served with juicy Eel that blends perfectly with the rice. Heaven!

Ice cream with custard served with fried toasts
Another favourite of mine. I am not normally a fan of desserts but the balance of this was spot on. Tiramisu flavoured ice cream was original and blended really well with the warm custard. As it melts into the crunchy toasts makes the perfect pudding! LOVE!
